Processing Guidelines for Best Results
1. Unpack With Care
Carefully remove your roses from the box while keeping the wrappers on. This helps maintain structure and prevents premature opening during hydration.
2. Prep the Stems
- Remove only the leaves below the water line; keep upper foliage intact to support hydration and presentation.
- Cut each stem sharply at an angle. Cutting underwater is recommended whenever possible to prevent air bubbles from blocking water uptake.
3. Hydrate Properly
Place the wrapped bunches in a clean bucket filled with warm water and a high‑quality hydrating solution such as Pokon & Chrysal RVB.
- Allow roses to hydrate in this solution for 24–36 hours.
- After hydration, transfer them to a flower‑food solution for display.
4. Cool for Optimal Opening
Place the wrapped roses inside your cooler for 3–5 hours. This stabilizes temperature and supports even hydration.
5. Reveal & Display
Once conditioned, remove the wrappers and gently take off the outer guard petals. Your roses are now ready to display at their fullest beauty.
Tropicals
In general, Tropical Flowers should be processed like any other cut flower. Temperature is very important, however, as they should never be stored below 55º F. The reason is that tropical flowers are grown in rainforests where the humidity is high, and the temperature is warm.
- Temperature Range: 55º to 70º F
- Fill the water bucket 2/3 full
- Cut the stem to allow water intake
- Mist your tropicals once a day (to mimic the rainforest’s humid environment)
Instructions:
Anthurium: Handle with extreme care. VERY FRAGILE. Best stored at 55º F+ and 95% humidity. Flower heads may be misted daily.
Bird Of Paradise: Best stored between 55º F and 70º F. Blooms may not emerge from the pod, so you may have to open them manually. To do this, make a half-inch slit at the end of the rod near the stem, reach in, and carefully lift out some of the petals. Remove the white membrane, which separates the layers.
Heliconia: Best stored at 65º F or above. Excessive moisture may promote rot.
